About

My name is Frida Svensson. I’m 23 years old and I studying  my second year of  Gamedesign at Uppsala University Campus Gotland.

I’m an 2D artist and started drawing about 11 years ago. I had no previous experience with gamedesign or 3D modeling before coming here but I’ve learned a lot in these two years.

Mechropolis is the game I’m working on right now, together with 6 other students. The game is a first person puzzle adventure.

You play Vale, a scout that has been sent out to look for other civilizations or resources. In her search she finds a  huge hole going down into the ground. She ventures down the hole and finds it is inhabited by strange little robots mining for crystals. She finds a device which she can use to lift the robots and fuse them together to help her go even farther down the hole.

My main task for this project is modeling, texturing and animating the main character, or what you see of her, which is the hands.

My first game was Alienation, a 2D side scrolling space shooter about a lonely creature looking for a friend.

I designed the main character and did the animations for it and three other creatures. I also did the nightsky background.

The game can be downloaded and played by clicking here.

The second game I was part of making was King of the Thrill.

King of the Thrill is a 2D top down isometric view brawler, where you use your smart phone as input device.

I designed and animated all the characters and made the logo.

The game won the Best Innovation category of the Swedish Game Awards 2013 and was showcased together with two other student game-projects at Tokyo Game Show 2013.
